Battle of the Bare: Awards Gown Wars

Just when everyone thought no one could possibly outdo Jennifer Lopez's green chiffon Versace Grammy Awards 2000 gown, Britney Spears managed to reclaim the title with her flesh-toned Todd Oldham cat suit at the VMA awards... a win soon shared in a tie with rapper Lil' Kim, who wore half a dress and a pastie to the same awards show.

Until Grammy night, 2001. That's when Toni Braxton threw her hat in the ring and walked away with the title.

Toni - and designer Richard Tyler - discovered a brand new way to bare more... on the side! Despite the usual and oh-so-predictable press clips declaring Toni's gown "too much," "going too far," and "tasteless," and that Toni was "trying too hard," it is the opinion of this web site that the gown was elegant, whimsical, and worn with a sense of humor.

And the world awaits the next round, in which we will find out if Jennifer or Britney or L'il Kim can reclaim the title.
